Mendon Township board raises Dale Hutson’s pay to $2,500 amid land-division concern

MENDON — The Mendon Township Board voted Dec. 2 to raise the monthly pay for Dale Hutson to $2,500.

Supervisor Kline told Hutson he would propose boosting the pay “to $2500.00 per month,” and Hutson had earlier said his requested rate was "$2073.00 per month." Treasurer Jan Griffith moved to increase Hutson’s monthly pay to $2,500, Trustee Jim Hart supported the motion, and the board carried it.

The action came during floor business after Hutson said a board of review will be held Dec. 9 in the township library basement. Hutson described a land-division inquiry for property owned by Sandra and Wayne Wilds in the southeast part of the village, saying a surveyor believes the parcel boundaries may be inaccurate. Hutson said a portion of the parcel may be village property but is currently assessed as township property; the Wilds’ surveyor requested an easement for a road to enable the proposed division and sale. The board received a map from Hutson and legal descriptions from Mostrom.
