Council OKs two park pavilions, including 20'x24' structure at Timbertown

The Chelsea City Council approved two park pavilion projects on March 6 based on recommendations from the Parks and Recreation Commission.
Public Works Superintendent Bollinger told council the Timbertown pavilion would match a newer structure at Pierce Park and be sited after coordination with commission members; the total cost for the pavilion and concrete pad is $18,770. Council approved the purchase by motion (Peter Feeney moved; Bill Ruddock seconded).
The council also approved a smaller 12'x16' pavilion and pad for the dog park, priced at $11,265, which Bollinger said would be identical in style to the Pierce Park pavilion but smaller in scale. (Motion: Tony Iannelli; second: Eric Keaton.)
Public Works will schedule procurement and construction; the approvals fund relatively small capital outlays and follow the city’s Parks Master Plan recommendations.
