Chelsea City Council appoints DDA and planning members, approves equipment purchases

Chelsea City Council on Aug. 1 appointed Jonathan Curtis to the Downtown Development Authority and reappointed Jamie Lane to the Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals, while also approving two equipment purchases for city operations.
The council voted to appoint Jonathan Curtis to the DDA for a term to expire Dec. 31, 2025. The motion was moved by Peter Feeney and seconded by Eric Keaton; the minutes record the outcome as "All Ayes." Later the council approved reappointing Jamie Lane to both the Planning Commission and the Zoning Board of Appeals for three-year terms ending June 30, 2025 (moved by Eric Keaton, seconded by Charles Wiseley; "All Ayes").
Council also scheduled a joint work session with the Planning Commission for 6 p.m. on Aug. 15, 2022, to be facilitated in person by city planning consultant Jamie Gorenflo. The session is described in the minutes as an update on current and future projects.
On capital maintenance, Water/Wastewater Superintendent Davis presented three quotes to rebuild Reverse Osmosis feed pump #3 and the council accepted a quote from Kerr Pump and Supply for $17,358.00 (motion by Tony lannelli, second by Bill Ruddock; "All Ayes"). For the Electric Department, Operations Manager Stevens reported soliciting four quotes and receiving two; the council approved purchasing a pickup truck from Todd Wenzel Buick GMC for $46,777.70 (motion by Eric Keaton, second by Peter Feeney; "All Ayes").
