Residents press Fluvanna supervisors over Tenaska construction water use amid drought

Similar concerns recurred during the second public comment period, when Ray Bassi, Ron Barche and others again urged scrutiny of Tenaska’s water withdrawals.
In Unfinished Business the Board discussed Tenaska’s water use and directed staff to seek written assurance that construction would not draw on private well water, and to conduct baseline and periodic testing of wells in the area during construction. Board members stated staff will return with a presentation on water management and applicable regulations.
The meeting minutes record no formal enforcement action or final remedy; the Board’s direction at this session was limited to seeking written exclusions and arranging testing. Residents may return the issue to the Board when staff brings back the requested presentation and any technical analysis.
