A staff presenter said workers' compensation matters have been settled and that Sandman signed the separation agreement; the retirement date in the plan is June 30, 2026. "Sergeant Sandman incurred an on-duty injury in December of 2024 and has been off work since then," a staff member said. The presenter confirmed Sandman has 16 years of service with the township.
A board member offered thanks for Sandman's service: "I would just like to thank Officer Sandman for his efforts on behalf of the East Pennsboro Township community," a supervisor said. The board then moved to authorize the chair to sign the employment separation agreement and release concerning Sandman's permanent medical disability retirement. The motion (moved by Mr. Bennett, seconded by Mr. Tran) passed 5-0.
The agreement and the retirement date are the formal actions before the board; staff will implement the separation processes and finalize necessary paperwork.
