Monroe council approves fuel-management contract, safety plan, grants and several ordinances

The council unanimously approved Resolution No. 9025 (CorPay fuel management contract), Resolutions No. 9026–9029 (grant applications and transit safety plan), and adopted ordinances including a 15-foot alley revocation and code amendments on Oct. 28, 2025.
At its Oct. 28 meeting the Monroe City Council approved a bundle of administrative items, grants and ordinances.
Resolutions adopted included Nos. 9025 (authorize contract with CorPay for fuel management system upgrades), 9026 (apply for/accept funding through the National League of Cities’ Southern Cities Economic Inclusion Initiative), 9027 (apply for/accept funding through the Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund), 9028 (adopt the Monroe Transit System Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan), and 9029 (accept a Louisiana Highway Safety Commission FY2026 Traffic Safety Enforcement grant of $51,600).
On ordinance matters the Council approved Ordinance No. 12,275 to revoke a 15-foot alley between Orange and Apple Streets (dividing the alley to provide each adjacent property an additional 7.5 feet), Ordinance No.12,276 amending residential and commercial bulk and yard regulations, and removed an ordinance approving a lease with DaveAir, LLC at Monroe Regional Airport from the docket. The Council also approved Ordinance No.12,277 addressing sober living homes (covered in a separate article).
Council members said the approvals reflected routine administrative business and grant opportunities; no public comments were recorded on the resolutions and the ordinances passed on second reading before the Council closed related hearings.
