The West Stockbridge Select Board unanimously appointed Fire Deputy Scott Muir Feb. 2 to serve as interim Emergency Management Director while the Police Chief is on leave.
Town Administrator Marie Ryan told the Board that state and federal agencies (MEMA and FEMA) need a designated local point of contact in an emergency and that Scott Muir — who currently serves as the Stockbridge Emergency Management Director — offered to serve for West Stockbridge as well. Kathleen Keresey moved to appoint Muir; Toby Casey seconded. "All were in favor," minutes record; the motion passed.
The Board thanked Scott Muir for agreeing to help the Town fulfill its emergency-management obligations while the Police Chief is on leave.
