The West Stockbridge Planning Board agreed by consensus on Feb. 3 to hire the Berkshire Regional Planning Commission to help finalize the town’s Subdivision Rules and Regulations under the State Subdivision Control Law. The chair said BRPC would assist in coordinating and reviewing the current regulations, incorporate amendments, and make sure statutory references are consistent with state law.
The board indicated the goal is to have the regulations cleaned up, readopted, and available to the public. The chair reported that CJ Hoss of BRPC may also assist in identifying grant funding to support the work. No formal vote was recorded; members reached agreement by consensus during the meeting.
Next steps noted at the meeting include the planning board working with BRPC on the draft the chair recently distributed. The board will continue the discussion at upcoming meetings as the consultant engagement and any grant-seeking are developed.
