New Bremen council reviews solid-waste plan, drug-fund policy and first reading on 911 addressing authority

The Village of New Bremen council on Oct. 13 received several informational items and recorded readings of resolutions and ordinances without final votes.
Village Administrator Richter said the State will resurface State Route 66 from the Auglaize/Shelby line to Bremen Street and noted the Auglaize County Solid Waste Management District submitted a required periodic plan update. The council recorded a second reading of Resolution 2025-09-15 to adopt the Auglaize County Solid Waste Management Update; the minutes show the summary was received but do not record final adoption.
The council also recorded a second reading of Ordinance 2025-009-19, a policy for the receipting and expenditure of the Drug Law Enforcement Fund established under Ohio law in 1986. Richter said the policy follows the requirements of the Ohio Revised Code; no final vote is recorded in the minutes.
Separately, the council recorded a first reading of Resolution 2025-10-16 to have the Auglaize County Engineer's Office serve as the centralized Addressing Authority for the Village beginning Jan. 1, 2026. Richter noted that under recent state rules any issuance or modification to an address must be updated in the 911 system within 72 hours.
These items were recorded as readings in the minutes; the only recorded final action in the meeting was the adoption of the electric rate ordinance. The meeting adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
