Bolten & Menk staff explained the amendment and clarified that accessory structures such as sheds and garages would continue to require a 5-foot setback. Mayor Ronna Berghoff opened the public hearing on the ordinance; no residents spoke. Council member James Young moved to pass the ordinance and Damon Bullock seconded; the council recorded an unanimous vote in favor.
The ordinance was discussed during the regular meeting and then formally passed during the public hearing. The council directed staff to publish the adopted ordinance and to update permit guidance to reflect the revised setback standards.
