PUC authorizes solicitation for $4.5M bridge‑line replacements

Anthony reviewed the docket and found the $4.5 million estimate reasonable given the technical complications of replacing lines over bridges and water. "Each of the 10 water and sewer lines that will be replaced are located on bridges…that kind of complicates the construction services," Anthony said.
Because the anticipated contract exceeds the $1 million procurement threshold, the PUC’s review is required before solicitation. Commissioners asked for no further clarifications and moved to authorize the solicitation; Commissioner Pete moved, another commissioner seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Staff will proceed with the solicitation process and return to PUC when bids require PUC approval for award. The order authorizing the solicitation was entered at the meeting.
