Carefree council approves HR membership and funds a financial operations assessment to support ERP launch

Council unanimously approved two administrative items intended to strengthen town operations.
Town Administrator Kristen Craig presented an enterprise membership agreement with Employers Council that provides access to HR consulting, employment law expertise, compensation and classification surveys, training and template policies. Staff said the platinum first‑year membership costs $8,350 and that the service is less expensive than purchasing the same discrete studies and legal support from individual vendors. Craig said the town’s HR workload will still be carried out by staff, but the membership provides on‑demand expertise and risk‑management support.
Council then approved a professional services agreement with 64th North Group to perform a comprehensive financial operations assessment and process documentation. The project is intended to accompany the town’s Tyler ERP Pro 10 rollout (the town previously approved the ERP implementation), document workflows, strengthen internal controls, create written financial procedures and help size future finance staffing needs. Finance staff and the town administrator said the assessment will prevent simply migrating old, manual workflows into the new system and will support better reporting and succession planning.
Both measures passed by unanimous vote.
