Page County jail nears completion; dispatch to move into partial occupancy July 7–9

Chris Faulk, site superintendent for the Page County Jail project with Samuels Group, gave a detailed progress report on construction and systems testing. Faulk said concrete work at the DOT portion of the site is complete, most non-detention flooring is finished and epoxy flooring will be installed next, and glazing, detention frames and security hardware are in place. He said the project is moving into final punch-list and commissioning activities.
Faulk told the board the county passed a fire marshal inspection that allowed partial occupancy for the dispatch area. "We passed that inspection. So now we can have ... partial occupancy for the dispatch so we could move dispatch come the 7th 8th and 9th," Faulk said. Vendors and county staff are preparing desks and technology; a generator startup (Cummins) is scheduled and may take two to three days.
Faulk estimated most flooring work will be completed within a week to 10 days and described remaining items such as HVAC commissioning, plumbing fixture set-up after flooring installation, and security programming. He said the project team scheduled a joint punch-list walk-through the week of July 13 and expected contractor corrections to follow.
The board did not take further action; Faulk answered brief questions about polishing vs. epoxy and confirmed no change order was required for the flooring approach.
