Claiborne Parish maintenance supervisor reports minimal storm damage, plans roof replacement and sets Haynesville bid schedule

At Summerfield, however, the maintenance supervisor reported two roof leaks that a roofer attributed to ice and prior hail damage. “The roofer is going to temporarily repair the roof but the district will be looking into replacing the roof, due to the age being over 10 years,” Mr. Guillory said, noting the age and existing hail damage as drivers for a longer-term replacement decision.
Mr. Guillory also reported the district submitted a boiler grant application last Friday for the Homer auditorium to the Public Service Commission. He did not provide further details on the grant amount or timeline; the minutes record only that the application was submitted.
Separately, Mr. Guillory described a clubhouse project at Summerfield to convert a storage building used for equipment and supplies into locker rooms for the boys’ and girls’ softball and baseball teams. The work will include cleaning out the building, installing electricity and air conditioning, and outfitting separate locker-room spaces.
On procurement for the Haynesville auditorium renovation, Mr. Guillory said a pre-bid meeting is scheduled for March 4 and that bids will be due March 19 if the board approves moving forward. He also briefly reviewed how the district’s maintenance request process operates for logging and resolving facilities issues.
