Claiborne Parish board votes to supplement staff "13th check" from general fund

At the Nov. 6 meeting the Claiborne Parish School Board approved using district general funds to increase the December "13th check" for staff, Mrs. Turner told the board.
Mrs. Turner presented two calculation scenarios: supplementing from the general fund would make the 13th check $3,500 for certified staff and $1,505 for support staff; without the supplement the amounts would be $3,185.22 for certified staff and $1,369.65 for support staff. William Maddox moved to supplement the increased 13th check from the general fund; Linda Knox seconded. The motion passed by a vote of 9 yes, 0 no.
The minutes do not record the total cost to the general fund or whether the supplement will affect other budget lines. Mrs. Turner also briefly reviewed October 2025 financials and interest rates for district accounts earlier in the meeting.
