The superintendent’s report at the Jan. 8 meeting listed personnel actions and an upcoming payroll supplement and included a brief financial update.
Personnel items recorded in the minutes include a certified hire: Jaycee Barron, teacher at Haynesville Elementary, effective Jan. 5, 2026 (replacing Kelly Paul). Resignations/retirements recorded were: Kelly Paul (teacher — resigned, effective Dec. 19, 2025), Sjorlund Darnell (Food Tech — resigned, effective Dec. 19, 2025), Brenda Giddens (Secretary — retired, effective Dec. 19, 2025), and Karla Aycock (teacher — retired, effective Dec. 31, 2025). A transfer was recorded for Jessica (Denys) Ritzell to Special Ed Secretary effective Jan. 5, 2026 (replacing Allison Williams).
Ms. Turner told the board that a salary supplement will be paid Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, at $768.18 for professional staff and $384.09 for support personnel. Ms. Turner also briefly reviewed December 2025 financials and current interest rates on the district’s accounts and said she plans to contact financial institutions to discuss rates and report back to the board.
