The Lexington Planning Commission voted unanimously July 1 to recommend draft zoning regulation amendments to the Lexington City Council following a brief public hearing.
Chair Sadie Worthing opened the hearing at Lexington City Hall, and Secretary Bill Brecks reviewed the proposed draft language for commissioners. After a short discussion, Worthing closed the hearing and Commissioner Cam Smith moved to recommend approval of the draft ordinance to the City Council; Commissioner Kristi Moyer seconded the motion. Commissioners Roque Gonzalez, Curtis Roemmich, Moyer, Smith and Worthing voted “aye,” and the motion carried.
Earlier in the meeting, Commissioner Kristi Moyer moved and Commissioner Roque Gonzalez seconded approval of the minutes from the June 3, 2026 regular meeting; that motion also carried on a 5-0 roll call. Secretary Bill Brecks informed the commission during the roundtable that Planning Commissioner Jeremy Kaiser has resigned.
The meeting notice was published in the June 16, 2026 edition of the Lexington Clipper-Herald, and the commission convened at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Lexington City Hall, 406 East 7th Street. With no further business, Chair Worthing declared the meeting adjourned.
The Planning Commission's recommendation will be forwarded to the Lexington City Council for consideration; the council's action and any further public comment were not recorded in these minutes.
