At its Oct. 6 meeting the Penn Forest Township Board unanimously voted to begin writing an ordinance to establish an Environmental Advisory Council. The motion, made by Vice-Chairman Christian Bartulovich and seconded by Supervisor Patrick Holland, authorized staff and the board to draft ordinance language but did not adopt any council structure, membership criteria or powers.
The minutes record only that the board directed staff to start the ordinance-writing process; no ordinance language, funding sources, calendar for adoption, or membership makeup were included in the minutes. The item will return to the board once draft language is prepared.
The motion passed unanimously, and the board recorded it as an instruction to begin the drafting phase rather than as an adoption of policy.
