Spring City commissioners approve moving Autumn Festival to Front Street

The Spring City Board of Commissioners voted Sept. 25 to approve the Spring City Chamber's request to move the Autumn Festival to Front Street on Sept. 27, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., after Veterans Park was double-booked.
Commissioner Reba Murphy moved to approve the location change; Vice-Mayor Jody Bauer seconded the motion. The motion carried with Commissioners Thomas Beaver, Reba Murphy, Vice-Mayor Jody Bauer and Mayor Leon Locke voting "Aye." Commissioner Kevin Jenkins was absent.
Under the approved plan, Front Street will be reduced to one traffic lane from West Jackson to Piccadilly, with traffic routed north to south to allow patrons to park in front of businesses along the route. The city recorded the action in the meeting minutes, attested by City Recorder Brenda Dodson.
The vote was recorded as a formal motion and no further debate or amendments were noted in the minutes. The meeting record shows the change was approved to address the scheduling conflict at Veterans Park and to maintain business access along Front Street during the festival.
