Ava Wilson to lead 'Lighting the Way' committee; commission schedules special Sept. 16 meeting

Commissioners discussed moving the Chamber Parade to coincide with the lighting event so sponsorship dollars could be split, and suggested starting the big band earlier and scheduling the lighting during the band’s intermission. To finalize committee membership and collaboration with the Spring City Chamber, the commission set a special call meeting for Sept. 16. The meeting will also be an opportunity to meet the incoming city manager.
No formal vote beyond the scheduling motion was recorded; commissioners assigned follow-up tasks to volunteers and staff.
