The Spring City Tourism and Events Commission reviewed final logistics for "Spring City Splash," scheduled for Aug. 2, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Veterans Park, with organizers to arrive by 9:30 a.m. Kristin Urani reported several in-kind donations and vendor commitments: Tractor Supply donated a Pelican 100X kayak (with paddle); Donna Vaughn donated $40; Spring City Pharmacy donated a children's shirt; One Stop Pet Shop donated a SpongeBob prize. Destin to Chill will provide free ice cream to children while adults will pay, and Monkey Town Inflatables will supply inflatable equipment.
Commission members assigned responsibilities for event-day logistics. Leon Locke will bring speakers for music; Kristin Urani will contact Tennessee Riverline regarding promotional swag; Ava Wilson will follow up about music. The group identified outstanding needs including pools for the duck activity and a water donation; members said they will approach Piggly Wiggly about donating water.
Commissioner Jody Bauer moved that the Spring City Athletic Association participate in the event, providing free hot dogs to children and selling food to adults; Commissioner Ava Wilson seconded the motion. The minutes record the motion as approved ("all were in favor"). The minutes do not list budgetary numbers for the event or formal contracts with vendors.
The commission adjourned at 7:58 p.m. Members said they will reconvene on Aug. 26, 2025, for the next regular meeting and will report on outstanding follow-ups related to the Splash event.
