Hallock council authorizes $523,878 in bills, approves payroll transfer and boosts library funding

The Hallock City Council on Sept. 16 approved payment of city bills and related payroll transfers and agreed to a 3 percent increase in the city’s library allocation for 2026.
Councilor Naomi Larson moved to authorize payment of the listed city bills (check amounts and electronic payments) with a total check amount of $523,878.11 (AF) and $45,423.52 (UVB). Councilor Kevin Waller seconded the motion, which carried. The council also approved a payroll transfer covering wages, taxes and benefits of $94,974.87. Mayor Dave Treumer and Councilor Mike Totleben will review bills again at the October meeting.
Councilor Kevin Waller moved to increase the annual Northwest Regional Library allocation by 3 percent for 2026, to $17,393; Councilor Larson seconded and the motion carried.
City Administrator Kendra Kroening presented the Budget-to-Actual report to the council during the meeting; no formal additional action on the report was recorded. The council also reviewed other administrative items on the agenda and scheduled its next regular meeting for Oct. 6, 2025.
The council took all votes by motion and second; recorded roll-call tallies were not provided in the meeting minutes.
