The Hallock City Council approved a pay step increase for Deputy Clerk Kara Johnson after a six‑month personnel review.
Personnel Committee members Councilor Kevin Waller, Naomi Larson and Administrator Kendra Kroening met with Kara Johnson for her six‑month review. Councilor Waller reported the committee recommended moving Johnson from step 3 to step 4. Administrator Kroening praised Johnson’s performance, saying she "is doing a great job, she is great with customers, very friendly, takes the initiative to problem solve, deals with the public very well, does a good job with the campers." Councilor Jen Peterson moved to give the step‑in pay from step 3 to step 4 at $23.04; Councilor Mike Totleben seconded the motion and it carried.
Why it matters: the personnel action recognizes staff performance and adjusts compensation accordingly.
What’s next: the wage change will be applied in payroll and recorded in personnel files.
