Rothschild board approves financing for 107-foot Pierce ladder truck for Riverside Fire Department

The Village of Rothschild on Jan. 13 approved financing to cover the Riverside Fire Department’s purchase of a 2025 Pierce 107-foot aerial ladder truck. The board voted unanimously to authorize the purchase of the truck and to adopt Resolution No. 2025-01 authorizing issuance of a not-to-exceed $1,000,000 general obligation promissory note to fund the purchase.
Administrator Ryan VanDeWalle told the board the Riverside Fire Board had approved the truck purchase in July 2024 and that the village received a payment breakdown for the two communities and direct billing information from Pierce Manufacturing. Justin, the village’s financial adviser from Baird, joined the meeting online to discuss borrowing options and terms.
Village President Dan Helgeson and trustees voted in a roll-call on the resolution; the vote was recorded as unanimous in favor. The resolution establishes parameters for the sale of the promissory note; board members did not amend the proposal during the meeting.
The approval directs the village to proceed with the borrow and places responsibility on staff to complete the financing paperwork. The board took no further action at the meeting on exact repayment schedules beyond the parameters in Resolution No. 2025-01.
