Spring Hill adopts updated fire and building codes unanimously

Mayor Matt Fitterer and the Board of Mayor and Aldermen on June 1 adopted Ordinance 26-07, updating the City of Spring Hill's fire code and multiple chapters of the building and electrical codes. The measure passed on second reading by voice vote 9-0.
The ordinance amends Title 7, Chapter 2 (Fire Code) and Title 12, Chapters 1 through 6 (Building and Electrical Codes). Mayor Fitterer opened a public hearing on the ordinance; no members of the public spoke and the hearing was closed before the vote.
Vice Mayor Trent Linville made the motion to approve the ordinance and Alderman Brent Murray seconded. The board approved the ordinance unanimously with all nine members voting in favor.
The adoption replaces the existing provisions identified in the ordinance packet and moves the local code updates into effect as recorded in the city's code of ordinances. The meeting then moved on to other items on the agenda and later adjourned to executive session at 7:50 PM.
