MARQUETTE COUNTY, Wis. — Human Services Director Mandy Stanley told the board at its Oct. 6 meeting that two department positions remain vacant and that the department is preparing to launch an artificial-intelligence software module for its phone system.
Stanley said the AI phone software will be set up to assist calls and is expected to go live soon. She also previewed changes to the department’s 2026 budget that will be presented to the county’s Executive & Finance committee later in the week (Thursday and Friday), prompting discussion among board members about specific budget lines.
Board members asked clarifying questions; no formal action was taken and staffing recruitment and the budget presentation will return for further reports at future meetings.
