Parent tells Pasadena ISD board that SEPAC held first meeting, urges caution on optics of contract votes

The SEPAC plans monthly meetings from August through April and aims to recruit about 20 parents from campuses across the district.
Ms. Davis thanked the board and the president for opportunities to ask questions during the recent budget workshop and asked that those who wish to speak use the public comment process or the district grievance procedures for personnel or student-specific matters. She closed by urging trustees to “take into consideration that if the contract on the agenda is pending renewal due solely to budgetary constraints, it may be perceived in bad taste to vote yes for such a highly compensated position to have a salary increase.”
Her remarks were made during the publicly noticed public-comment window; trustees did not directly engage in substantive response beyond confirming procedures and timing. The SEPAC update provides a public-record starting point for parent involvement in special-education planning this school year.
