Committee approves minutes, tables secretary nomination; discusses file-sharing and RFP targets

At the June 16 Firehouse Building Committee meeting, members handled routine administrative business and set several follow-up tasks.
The committee approved the amended minutes from its June 4, 2026 regular meeting after a motion by Tim Lee and a second by Dave Berardis; the motion passed unanimously. The nomination and election for the committee secretary position were tabled until the next meeting.
Committee members reviewed the financial report and noted that no invoices had been received for consideration. No representatives from the Board of Finance or the Board of Selectmen were present to provide updates.
On records and file sharing, Adam Kerop reported that the committee’s shared files currently require a Town of Deep River email address to access. He said resolving the access restriction would require action by the Board of Selectmen and that he would contact Enterprise to explore alternative file-sharing solutions.
The committee also discussed issuing RFPs to evaluate candidate properties, naming the Deep River Firehouse, a vacant lot adjacent to the firehouse, and the Deep River Fire Department Museum as properties to be considered; final decisions were deferred to the next meeting.
Tim Lee moved to adjourn the meeting, Bruce Newman seconded, and the meeting adjourned at 7:37 PM.
