Altoona hosts Greater Des Moines Partnership update; Dunwoody presents flag and K9 Ricco sworn in

The Altoona City Council’s June 15 meeting included a presentation from the Greater Des Moines Partnership and brief ceremonial items.
Tiffany Tauscheck, President & CEO of the Greater Des Moines Partnership, and Stacie LoVan, senior vice president for economic development, provided an overview of the Partnership and highlighted regional economic development work. Brian Ohoriko, CEO of Prairie Meadows, also participated in that presentation.
Separately, Councilmember Dunwoody thanked residents for support during his deployment and presented the city with a flag from his time overseas. Mayor Dean O’Connor then administered the oath to K9 Ricco and handler Officer McVey in a short swearing-in ceremony recognizing the new K9 team for the Altoona Police Department.
