Chicopee Public Library trustees met May 4 and approved routine governance items while receiving an update on plans to refurbish the library’s bookmobile.
The meeting, called to order by Trustee Barbara Pronovost at 9:30 a.m. at the Emily L. Partyka Central Branch, included votes to accept the minutes of the April 6 meeting (Motion: Judy Chelte; Second: Barbara Pronovost) and to accept the May 1 financial report after Library Director Laura Bovee reviewed balances for LIG, MEG, donations, revolving, and operating accounts (Motion: Karen Kamienski; Second: Judy Chelte). Both motions passed, 3-0.
Bovee also reviewed circulation, computer usage, and program statistics for April and the trustees voted to accept the Director’s Report (Motion: Judy Chelte; Second: Karen Kamienski). Vote: 3-0.
On the bookmobile, the trustees were told that “the purchase order is in process and getting all the necessary signatures.” The minutes state the purchase order will cover potential repairs needed to return the vehicle to service; the amount of the purchase order was not specified in the report.
The meeting adjourned at 10:35 a.m. The trustees scheduled their next regular meeting for June 8, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at the Emily L. Partyka Central Branch.
