Tisbury board approves shared-use kitchen for Yommi Pops with conditions

The Tisbury Board of Health on June 9 authorized Yommi Pops to operate a shared-use commercial kitchen at the applicants’ proposed facility, allowing up to four additional food-establishment occupants provided each secures a separate food permit from the Board.
Applicants Caroline and Ryan presented a floor plan, operations policies, a user agreement and a schedule that separates a curved prep area for fruit and vegetable production from a back-kitchen area. Staff reviewed the submission and recommended limiting the number of occupants to prevent the facility from becoming overburdened. The Board approved the proposal unanimously.
Under the motion, each participating business must obtain its own food-establishment permit and be approved by the Board of Health before operating in the shared kitchen. Any change in occupants will also require prior Board approval. The Board discussed cleaning and changeover procedures, dry and cold storage, separation of allergens and raw foods, and the need for clear scheduling and sanitation protocols to manage multiple users.
The Board did not specify a date for the kitchen to open; staff will follow up to confirm occupant permits and any required inspections before operation.
