Town Accountant Bethany Mosley told the Select Board on May 12 that general fund revenues were tracking at approximately 86% of expectations through April, while ambulance revenue was slightly below projections. She said anticipated deficits in school utilities and public-safety overtime remain manageable within the operating budget but that snow-and-ice removal costs produced a $331,000 deficit that will be addressed in next year’s recap. Mosley requested a joint meeting with the Advisory Committee on July 14, 2026 to process year-end transfers.
Mark Cameron provided an update on the Town Hall renovation at 41 Highland Avenue. He reported that window-replacement bids are being solicited; securing bids is a prerequisite to pursue a potential $500,000 HVAC grant. The schematic design phase is complete and includes a new porch and a relocated entrance intended to improve security and separate administrative functions from the historic hall. Radon mitigation work is under way in the annex basement.
Interim Town Manager Michelle Leary confirmed that radon mitigation and air-quality remediation are proceeding at Town Hall and at the 62 Elm Street police station, and noted several upcoming community events including the Memorial Day Parade on May 25. No budget transfers or new appropriations were approved at the May 12 meeting; the requested July 14 joint meeting with the Advisory Committee is intended to consider year-end transfers and next steps.
