COHASSET, Mass. — The Cohasset Affordable Housing Trust unanimously approved a grant application letter and several routine administrative items at its May 13 meeting, and moved into executive session to discuss negotiable real property.
Cassandra Thayer, the town planner, told the Trust that the state has approved paperwork for 1 Pleasant Street. Once the deed is recorded with the registry and the building department completes its review, the property's units can be applied to Cohasset's Subsidized Housing Inventory (SHI), which will add 14 units to the town's counted total.
The Trust approved a draft grant application letter that Thayer had circulated before the meeting. Trust member Cindy Matheison moved to approve the letter; Rob Henry seconded. The roll-call vote was 4-0 in favor (Rob Henry, Gene Pesci, Cindy Matheison and Chair Ted Carr voting AYE).
The board also approved routine invoices: MHTL Invoice #168591 for $50 (motion by Ted Carr, seconded by Gene Pesci) and a minutes-recording invoice for $300 (motion by Ted Carr, seconded by Cindy Matheison). The Trust approved the minutes of its April 1, 2026 meeting on a motion by Rob Henry, seconded by Gene Pesci; all motions carried by 4-0 roll-call votes.
Near the meeting's close, the Trust voted to enter executive session under MGL c.30A, §21, permissible reason #6 — to consider the purchase, exchange, lease or value of real property — to discuss 39 Mill Lane. Cindy Matheison moved to enter executive session and Rob Henry seconded; the roll call was 4-0. The meeting entered executive session at 8:58 a.m. and was adjourned during that executive session.
The meeting was held in hybrid format at 91 Sohier Street in Cohasset and via Zoom; the town's recording was uploaded to the town's YouTube channel.
