Douglasville moves to extend AECOM design agreement for Fairburn Road corridor through 2029

Transportation Chair Elena Hudson presented item 26-218, an authorization for Mayor Rochelle Robinson to sign Amendment No. 1 to the master design engineering services agreement with AECOM Technical Services Inc. for the Fairburn Road corridor improvement project. Project manager Matthew Johnson said the original agreement was set in May 2024 and was due to expire in May 2026; the amendment extends the agreement through Dec. 31, 2029 to align design services with the anticipated construction schedule.
Johnson described the amendment as a housekeeping action with no change to scope. When council asked whether there was any fee associated with the extension, Johnson said there was not. Council members indicated they were comfortable placing the item on the consent agenda for the Monday voting meeting.
