Chicopee Retirement Board approves multiple retirements, new memberships and refunds

The board approved superannuation retirements for Timothy Foley (patrolman, Police Department; retirement April 20, 2026, with 30 years, 6 months creditable service), Natividad Gayle (paraprofessional, School Department; retirement March 29, 2026, with 10 years, 5 months), Candido Lopes (custodian, School Department; retirement April 19, 2026, with 33 years, 4 months) and Jan Francis Wegrzynek (lieutenant, Police Department; retirement May 9, 2026, with 26 years, 2 months). The motion to approve these superannuation retirements passed unanimously.
The board approved membership into the retirement system for multiple Electric Light and School employees, including Katherine Gauthier, Brianne Gonzalez, Makayla Hammon, Ryan Kurtz, Fong Lee, Rebecca Leclair, Aaron-Moses Williams, Brendan Ritchie, Rachel Schlosser, Tallon Stager, Cody White and Talan Wissmann.
Refund requests for departing employees Hannah E. Arsenault (Paraprofessional, School), David E. Haskell (Custodian, School), James R. Mercer (Recreation Supervisor), Ricardo Pacheco (Attendance Assistant, School) and Jason D. Perez (Custodian, Highway) were reviewed and approved after statutory requirements were met. Transfer requests to other retirement systems for Zachary P. Beaulieu (Recruit Firefighter), Lyn A. Doty (Paraprofessional), Aaron M. Hale (Police Officer) and Yamilet Zayas (Building Substitute Teacher) were also approved.
The board reviewed and approved superannuation pension calculations for three recent retirees: Laura Bienvenue (Accounts Receivable Clerk, Electric Light; yearly pension $18,117.24), Patricia Guilmette (Circulation Librarian, Library; yearly pension $10,216.20) and Mark Lachowetz (Craftsman, School; yearly pension $56,448.84).
