Luckey council accepts Dec. 18 minutes, approves bills and 2025 rules; committee setup slated for Jan. 15

Mayor Cory Panning presided over the Village of Luckey council’s regular meeting on Jan. 2, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building. Councilmembers Mike McNulty, Alison Okenka, Michael Franklin, Richard Heilman, Don Brickner and Pat Covarrubias were present; Fiscal Officer Barb Rizzo also attended. Visitors Douglas Predmore, Andrew Predmore and Sara Brockschmidt were in the audience and did not comment.
Pat Covarrubias moved to accept the minutes of the Dec. 18, 2024 regular meeting; Mike McNulty seconded. A roll-call vote recorded affirmative votes from McNulty, Okenka, Franklin, Brickner, Covarrubias and Heilman and the motion carried.
Covarrubias then moved to accept the bills as presented, noting that two days of council pay had been left off Richard Heilman’s check in error and that the omitted pay would be issued at the next meeting. McNulty seconded; the same six council members voted yes and the motion carried.
Officials reported routine department updates: Maintenance, the Village Administrator, Streets/Lighting/Sewer/Sidewalk, Park/Tree, Lands/Buildings/Maintenance, and Refuse/Insurance/Finance each recorded “nothing new.” Ordinance review was listed as none. Police status was reported as "all good," and a police meeting will be scheduled soon.
The council signed purchase orders for the first quarter; specific vendors and dollar amounts were not specified in the meeting record.
The Rules of Council for 2025 were presented with no changes. Mike McNulty moved to accept the rules; Michael Franklin seconded. A roll-call vote again recorded six affirmative votes and the motion carried.
Mayor Panning announced that the committee setup for 2025 will be conducted at the next council meeting on Jan. 15, 2025. Richard Heilman moved to adjourn at 7:09 p.m.; Michael Franklin seconded and the motion carried.
The council’s next regular meeting was scheduled for Jan. 15, 2025, when committee assignments and the previously noted payroll correction will be addressed.
