Great Oaks report: $5.59M bid approved for Laurel Oaks expansion; new EV and construction programs planned

Mrs. Blankenship summarized the highlights of the Great Oaks board meeting for Lynchburg-Clay’s board on Aug. 22, 2024.
She reported Great Oaks Board Chair Mary Cleveland received the Ohio ACTE outstanding board member award for 2024. The Great Oaks Board approved new instructional resources and accepted Graybach LLC as the lowest responsible bidder at $5,594,600 for the Laurel Oaks Expansion — Phase 2 Project. The board said the expansion will house a new EV Maintenance Program and a Construction Technology Program that are expected to begin in the fall of 2025.
Mrs. Blankenship also noted Great Oaks received accreditation to offer an adult Practical Nursing Program. The meeting included an update from Mr. Harry Snyder on the Brent Spence Bridge Project and related workforce development work through the Workforce Council of Southwest Ohio.
The Great Oaks items reported to the Lynchburg-Clay board were informational; no Great Oaks-related board action was taken by the Lynchburg-Clay board at this meeting.
