The Village of Luckey Council approved two small operational expenses during its Aug. 7 meeting: roughly $672 to replace tires on a police vehicle and about $1,700 to clear three trees in a village right-of-way.
Village Administrator and Police Chief Randy Bielinski distributed the monthly police report and said, “the police vehicle is in need of tires, the cost is going to be approximately $672.00.” Michael Franklin moved to authorize the expenditure and Pat Covarrubias seconded; the motion passed on a roll-call vote.
Bielinski also reported that Jason Baker quoted $1,700 to clear three trees in the right-of-way; Richard Heilman moved to accept that cost, Pat Covarrubias seconded, and the motion passed on a roll-call vote. Bielinski said the Basic Park sign that is down will be fixed and noted the portable restroom's placement near the playground was discussed.
On broader infrastructure, Bielinski told the council that a company named Sigma is working to survey and has begun work on fiber-optic internet deployment through Amplex in the village. The council also scheduled a Streets/Lighting/Sewer/Sidewalk committee meeting for Aug. 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the municipal building. Councilmember Alison Okenka said she will check on a swings grant and finalize mulch ordering for park maintenance.
The council took the expenditures and administrative updates during the regular meeting before briefly entering executive session and adjourning at 7:38 p.m.
