Lowellville Council approves 2025 final budget and passes pay ordinance

The Lowellville Village Council approved the village’s final budget for 2025 and passed a pay ordinance during its March 12 regular meeting.
Fiscal Officer Strait asked council whether legislation was required for a Certificate of Resources and requested approval for interfund advances, a revenue supplemental and an appropriation supplemental; council voted to approve those requests. Council then voted to adopt the 2025 final budget after copies were provided to all members.
Council also moved to suspend the rules and pass the pay ordinance in the same meeting. The motions were made and seconded from the council dais and passed on roll call.
The approvals came amid routine business including motions to move claims to the claims committee and to advance them into the pay ordinance for payment. The Fiscal Officer noted she will consult the solicitor on whether additional legislation is needed to record the Certificate of Resources.
Council adjourned following other agenda items; the budget adoption and pay ordinance passage are the most significant fiscal actions taken at the session.
