The Denison City Council voted unanimously March 17 to accept the completed work on the North 24th Street and 1st Avenue South storm‑sewer project and to approve related contractor payments. Council adopted Resolution #2026‑17 approving the engineer's certificate of completion and accepting the work.
Councilmember Zupp‑Smith moved to adopt the resolution; Councilmember Peterson seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. The council also approved Change Order #1 from contractor OnTrack for $26,732.84 and Pay Application #1 from OnTrack for $68,512.84, both motions carried unanimously.
The measures close out the initial construction phase for the 24th Street/1st Avenue South storm sewer. The council recorded the change‑order dollar amount and the pay application total as the formal contractor adjustments and payment authorization; the contract and invoice entries will be reflected in the city’s project accounting. The council did not stipulate additional funding sources in the motion.
City Manager Jessica Garcia had previously provided staff recommendations and documentation to council; no council member requested to delay acceptance for further inspection. The council’s actions complete the municipal acceptance step for public‑works project closeout and authorize payment to the contractor pursuant to the approved pay application.
The council did not schedule further hearings on this project; administrative staff will record the project as accepted and process the contractor payment.
