Cerro Gordo supervisors adopt dock assignment policy for Clear Lake, approve licenses and payroll change

The Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors met March 2, 2026, and unanimously adopted Resolution 2026-19, establishing the county's 2026 Dock Assignment Policy for Clear Lake. Chairman Casey Callanan convened the meeting at 10:00 a.m.; Vice Chairman Carl Ginapp moved the resolution and Supervisor Chris Watts seconded it. The board's action cites the county's authority to manage docks extending from county shoreline under a Class II permit from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and references administrative rules at Chapter 571' 16 of the Iowa Administrative Code. The board approved a payroll change for Sheriff Frank Hodak, setting annual pay at $108,959.34 effective March 2, 2026. Vice Chairman Carl Ginapp moved the payroll change and Supervisor Chris Watts seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Supervisor Chris Watts moved and Ginapp seconded approval of an eight-month Class C liquor license for Pine Creek Golf Club; the motion passed unanimously. The board also certified the FY25 Cerro Gordo County Central Service Cost Allocation Plan and authorized the chair to sign the certification.
The board approved a Slavery and Human Trafficking Proclamation by unanimous vote. It also accepted reports from the Environmental Health Service Manager on manure management plan updates for Mike Kuhlemeier (East Site, site #62117) and Christensen Farms F-42 (site #59542) and forwarded those reports to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
At 10:15 a.m., the board went into an exempt session for a strategy session relating to public-employee collective bargaining pursuant to Iowa Code section 20.17(3). The roll call recorded Carl Ginapp, Chris Watts and Casey Callanan voting Aye. The board reconvened and adjourned at 10:18 a.m.
