Denison City Council voted April 7 to award the Broadway HMA Resurfacing contract to OMG Midwest after Beck Engineering reported the project was let through the Iowa Department of Transportation and received four bids.
Jason Eygabroad of Beck Engineering told the council OMG Midwest submitted the low bid of $574,201.52 and recommended awarding the contract to that firm. The council adopted Resolution #2026-19 approving plans and specifications, Resolution #2026-20 approving the contract, and Resolution #2026-21 making the award and authorizing the city to sign the contract via DocuSign. Each resolution passed unanimously after motions by Councilmember Zupp-Smith and seconds as recorded.
Eygabroad said the project follows the DOT letting process and that the city will proceed with awarding the contract to the low bidder. Council action clears the way for the contractor to execute the agreement and begin work according to the contract schedule.
The council took the vote as part of a broader consent of infrastructure items at the meeting; no councilmember recorded opposition. The meeting adjourned at 6:07 p.m.
