Denison council approves multiple construction pay applications, a change order and awards IRA forestry contract

Council approved Change Order #1 for the 2nd Avenue South Reconstruction Project with Bluffs Paving & Paving Company in the amount shown in the minutes as ($83,023.62). The council then approved Pay Application #2 to the same contractor for $81,501.05. Separately, the council approved Pay Application #1 for the Broadway HMA project to OMG Midwest Inc. for $2,618.32; a council member, identified in the minutes as Eygabroad, said this represented 10% of the mobilization payment. The council also approved Pay Application #19 from Jensen Builders for the Crawford County Wellness Center project in the amount of $59,930.55.
For city facilities, the council approved an estimate from Doors Inc. to replace doors at the Aquatic Center for $10,302.00.
On grant work, City Manager Garcia reviewed three proposals under the IRA Urban Forestry Urban Development Grant and recommended awarding Task 1 (inventory and mapping) to JEO Consulting for $23,840.00; council approved awarding the contract for task one and will reassess subsequent tasks depending on remaining grant funds.
All listed motions passed unanimously. The motions authorize city staff and the mayor to carry out contract signatures and processing consistent with council direction.
