Denison council approves multiple contracts, pay application and change orders; tables small IT duct work change

Denison — The Denison City Council approved several contracts, construction payments and procurement actions at its April 21 meeting, including a $54,211.32 pay application for a street reconstruction project and a lawn-care contract for the Northside Recreation Area.
Council approved the contract award to Lawns Perfected for spraying services at Northside Recreation based on the Northside Rec Board recommendation. The council then approved Pay Application #1 to Bluffs Paving & Paving Company, Inc. for the 2nd Avenue South Reconstruction Project in the amount of $54,211.32; the motion carried unanimously.
On community development matters, the council approved a Subrecipient Agreement with Region XII COG for IEDA Contract #25-OT-002 and authorized the mayor to sign a budget amendment request for that contract. The council also adopted Resolution #2026-24 to redefine the committed match for a CDBG project and voted to release an RFP for technical services related to the CDBG project.
The council approved two construction change orders: Change Order #10 adding court lines for $2,150.00 and Change Order #11 modifying flex room windows; both motions passed unanimously. A motion to approve Change Order #12 adding IT duct work for $359.00 was tabled by unanimous vote.
Additionally, the council authorized the Parks Director to sign the annual facility use agreement with Job Corps (date amended) and approved release of an RFP for a Tree Inventory Program. The meeting’s consent agenda also included routine approvals such as liquor and tobacco permits and the promotion of Christopher Fink to Maintenance Worker III.
