Del Norte County’s treasurer presented the quarter‑ending financial report for Dec. 31, 2025, reporting a total county portfolio balance of $148,931,468.
The treasurer said about 31 percent of the portfolio is held in the county’s liquid CAMP account, which provides daily access to funds, while 44 percent of holdings are in longer‑term government securities and certificates of deposit. The treasurer noted low spring/summer cash flows in the prior year but said portfolio management and market conditions produced solid interest results: the county earned about $5,200,000 in calendar‑year interest and roughly $1,300,000 attributable to the general fund.
“Fourth‑quarter earnings were $1,300,000 and the total for 2025 was $5,200,000,” the treasurer said, adding that maturing low‑yield investments present opportunities to roll into higher‑yield instruments. The treasurer reported an overall portfolio yield of about 3.68 percent and said she expects to reinvest maturing assets into higher rates over the coming quarters.
