Commission fills boards, approves LEDA match and distributes fire protection funds

The Pendleton County Commission made multiple appointments to local boards and authorities during its Dec. 16 meeting and approved several community funding actions.
On motions recorded as unanimous, the commission appointed Kevin Raymond to the 911 Advisory Board; Janice Lantz (five years) and Carmen Rexrode (one year) to the Board of Health; Joan Ashley, Jeremy Harper, Dayne Davis and Kyle Apple to the Pendleton County EDA (three-year terms); Gary Swecker to Farmland Protection (four-year term); and Luci Raines, Sam Yokum, Adam Hott, Kelly Marsh, Mike Weaver and Dave Seymour to the Planning Commission (two-year terms). Commissioner Roger Dahmer was appointed to a one-year term on the Workforce Development Board.
Sherry Mongold, director of the Seneca Rocks Regional Development Authority, submitted a resolution approving a LEDA grant match of $15,400, which the commission signed unanimously. The minutes also record that the Innovation Hub is now open.
The County Fire Protection Fund received $10,270.74 from the state; the commission approved disbursing $2,000 to each of the county's five fire departments. The minutes do not list the individual fire department names in that motion.
Annie Humes, Convention & Visitors Bureau director, reported that the deadline for the America 250 mural project has been extended to May 1, 2026, and thanked the commission for help establishing the Planning Commission.
The commission also approved several probate appointments and settlements presented by the County Clerk and entered routine allowance and payroll orders into the record. The minutes show the Jan. 20, 2026 meeting date was moved to Jan. 22, 2026 and that the commission adjourned until Jan. 6, 2026.
