Milan City Council adopts new fee schedule, approves budget changes and personnel moves

The Milan City Council on June 16 adopted a revised Official Fee Schedule effective July 1, 2026, and approved budget amendments for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, during a meeting at city hall.
Councilmember Kerkes moved to adopt the fee schedule, and Councilmember Stafford seconded; the motion carried. Councilmember Stafford moved and Councilmember Snyder seconded approval of the proposed budget amendments for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026; that motion also carried.
The council approved personnel changes in the Building Department. Councilmember Snyder moved to remove Tom Toth as Building Official; Councilmember Nie seconded and the motion carried. The council then appointed Jeff Feldcamp as Building Official on a motion by Councilmember Kerkes and a second by Councilmember Snyder.
Councilmembers also approved a memorandum of understanding with the Milan Public Library pending final approval by the city attorney; Councilmember Nie moved the MOU and Councilmember Stafford seconded the motion. The council approved a Community House Agreement on a motion by Councilmember Wayne, seconded by Councilmember Gress; the minutes record that Councilmember Snyder abstained from that vote.
City finance business at the meeting included approval of bills payable and payroll totaling $619,957.89 on a motion by Councilmember Snyder and a second by Councilmember Nie.
