Milan council authorizes application for $50,000 environmental study of Community House

The minutes record the vote as "Six Ayes, Zero Nays, and one abstained," and in the same paragraph also state "Motion carried unanimously." The minutes contain that inconsistency; the council direction recorded was to proceed with applying for the environmental study grant.
The authorization is a procedural step to pursue outside funding that would support assessments needed before rehabilitation can proceed. The city administrator also provided a separate update on the USDA Riverbank Center grant balance and said the city must prioritize remaining needed upgrades.
