The legislative body adopted a resolution authorizing a land exchange that transfers a 5.614-acre parcel in the southwest portion of the former Harris property in exchange for a 2.088-acre parcel and a 1.587-acre easement on the Sprecher property adjacent to the Dean Conservation Easement.
A speaker said the exchange preserves historical access for the Sprecher family’s farmland, provides the town with access that connects the Harris property through Sprecher land to the Dean easement and other conserved parcels, and that mapping and paperwork are complete. The resolution authorizes the first selectman to negotiate and execute any related documentation.
The motion was approved by voice vote. Officials described the action as a long-term planning achievement that will improve trail and conservation connectivity between several properties.
