Council reorganizations were a focal point of the Jan. 6 Village of Galena meeting.
Gillian Doucette and Josh Porter were both nominated for the position of Council President. Kathy Krupa made a motion to consider Doucette; Pete Casuccio seconded. After a paper ballot was completed, Gillian Doucette was chosen as the new Council President.
For the Zoning Commission council representative, four council members—Josh Porter, Kathy Krupa, Mike Fry and Pete Casuccio—were nominated. A first paper ballot produced no majority, leading to a re-vote between the top two candidates (Kathy Krupa and Mike Fry). The re-vote resulted in Kathy Krupa being selected as the Zoning Commission Council Representative.
